Webmaster
Active Endpoints seeks a webmaster to manage, maintain and enhance our Internet websites and CRM systems. Active Endpoints’ ActiveVOS BPMS is a new generation of enterprise software and the Internet is the company’s primary method of communicating about its revolutionary capabilities to prospects, customers and the industry. In addition to the main website at www.activevos.com, the company’s other web sites include a blog (www.vosibilities.com), a forum (forums.activevos.com) and a hosted CRM system.
The webmaster will be the primary owner of all these web properties and will be responsible for designing, coding and delivering enhancements to all of them. This includes adding and changing supplied content on the website; altering site navigation and structure as required; coding and implementing changes to the functionality of the website and managing the posting of product releases to the website.
The company plans to migrate to a different hosted CRM system. The webmaster will have primary responsibility for managing the technical aspects of this conversion and for delivering the functionality necessary to integrate the company’s website with its new CRM system. After the conversion, the webmaster will be the primary manager of the CRM system. In addition, the webmaster will be primarily responsible for integrating the website with marketing automation systems which the company plans to deploy.
Active Endpoints is a growing, venture-backed startup based in Waltham, MA. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Specific requirements and responsibilities for the webmaster role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- Five to seven years’ experience developing websites, preferably for software companies
- Develop and maintain site architecture and design for all of the company’s online properties
- Mastery of web development tools (Dreamweaver preferred) and languages, especially php, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, WordPress and Microsoft Office. Mastery of CMSs like Drupal is a plus
- Proficiency in related areas such as Linux, Apache, marketing automation systems and VMware
- Demonstrated creativity in the design, coding and operation of corporate websites
- Superior search engine optimization skills
- Experience in instrumenting websites for analytics and the preparation of reports assessing the sites’ use
- Ability to organize and carry out a wide variety of tasks in a timely fashion and knowing when to consult with management about setting priorities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within expected timelines
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous
- Stay current on all programming-related technology trends and innovations
- Perform other duties as assigned
