In order to meet performance, scalability and reliability requirements, the ActiveVOS engine runtime environment needs to be properly configured and tuned. This includes a need to properly configure the hardware platforms and third party software components (such as DBMS, application server, etc.) that the ActiveVOS engine relies on.
